Egyptian religious authority Dar al-Iftaa has launched “Sakan,” an artificial intelligence-integrated digital application tailored to support domestic life and assist young couples navigating modern matrimonial challenges.
The technological release formed the cornerstone of ten institutional benchmarks unveiled by Grand Mufti Dr. Nazir Ayyad at the closing of the 11th International Conference on Family Issues. The event brought together scholars and experts to draft solutions for families dealing with rapid societal, psychological, and technological changes.
Trained on a repository of millions of traditional fatwas, the new platform provides automated Islamic legal counsel, conflict resolution tools, and structured preparation courses for engaged couples.
Officials designed the application to streamline access to official religious guidance while lowering domestic dispute rates across the region. Additionally, Dar al-Iftaa announced a companion AI platform named “Haseen,” specifically designed for broader fatwa distribution.
“Today’s household must navigate complex economic, digital, and cultural transformations that require a balanced approach,” Dr. Ayyad stated, stressing the necessity of combining firm religious principles with an awareness of modern realities.
Beyond software solutions, the state religious organization introduced the Permanent Family Council, a regulatory body tasked with convening quarterly alongside social institutions to track emerging domestic hurdles.
Conference delegates simultaneously established the Cairo Declaration for Family Protection in the Digital Age, creating guidelines aimed at shielding youth from online gambling, addictive mobile applications, and virtual risks.
To broaden its civic reach, Dar al-Iftaa finalized strategic cooperative agreements with both the State Information Service and the Coptic Evangelical Church. These partnerships seek to facilitate cross-institutional dialogue and translate family awareness literature into five foreign languages.
